‘Contacts have already been established’ – Club initiates talks regarding a move for 22-year-old

Bryan Gil in action

Contact has been initiated to sign Tottenham winger Bryan Gil, with the club reportedly open to entertaining loan offers for him this month.

Italian transfer expert Fabrizio Romano mentioned last week that the 22-year-old is not on the verge of leaving Spurs and is determined to earn more opportunities under Ange Postecoglou.

However, things have changed this week after the signing of Timo Werner.

The club are now reportedly ready to entertain offers for the attacker. However, Gil has reportedly made it clear to Daniel Levy that he will only accept a loan move if it includes an obligation to buy clause.

He is attracting interest from several clubs, including Sevilla and Real Sociedad. As per journalist Ekrem Konur, both clubs are keen on securing the services of the winger.

Spanish outlet El Desmarque stated Real Sociedad are working on a deal for Union Berlin’s Sheraldo Becker, but Bryan Gil remains on their agenda.

Meanwhile, Spanish outlet AS has reported that Real Sociedad have a long-standing interest in GIl and that ‘contacts have already been established’.

Spurs signed the young forward from Sevilla in the summer of 2021 on a five-year contract for a transfer fee of €25 million.

Having only played 85 minutes in 9 league games during his debut season, Gil was loaned to Valencia for the rest of the campaign. In the following season, he made 11 appearances before being loaned to Sevilla in January for the remainder of the season.

His current season with Spurs has been hampered by an injury, leading to him missing eight games.

Despite his recovery, he has still struggled to impress Ange, making only 9 appearances, all from the bench.

And Timo Werner’s arrival only increases the challenge for Gil to secure playing time, especially considering the expectation that the German will be a regular starter as a left-winger, a position where he made his Lilywhites’ debut against Manchester United over the weekend.
