Friendlies are generally a platform for managers to experient and check on fitness levels, however, looking at the line up that Jose Mourinho has put out for the game against Reading this afternoon it seems the special one is taking it very seriously.
There are a bunch of youngsters on the bench and so one can expect a few of them to be brought on in the second half but that starting line up is rather strong.
Seems that Mourinho wants to put the game to bed before he starts experimenting with the kids, though there are some seasoned pros on the bench like Lamela, Sissoko and Aurier.
It is also noticeable that the Tweet from the club above does make it clear that the starting XI is the first-half team.
It is only a friendly but it is a game that I am looking forward to and fully intend to enjoy.
