Confirmed Tottenham team to face Chelsea in the Carabao Cup – Reguilon starts

By Bruce Grove -

Tottenham will be looking to bounce back this evening in the Carabao Cup against bitter rivals Chelsea after such a disappointing draw against Newcastle United last weekend.

VAR and the referee had a lot to do with the dropped two points but another factor was the lack of finishing up front, in all fairness, Tottenham should have had the game well won before VAR stepped in.

If Tottenham is so wasteful in front of the goal this evening then they will regret it against a Chelsea team that is expected to be a fairly strong one.

Frank Lampard will be looking to get one over Jose Mourinho once again after putting him in his pocket twice last season. Mourinho will be desperate to start putting Lampard in his place.

This is the team that Mourinho has gone with for this evening. Let us know in the comments below what you think, can this starting XI get the win?

I guarantee you Everton & Leicester will be below us by Xmas.
A good few games means nothing.

Your not telling new you really believe Leicester will be better than last season coz they beat a poor Man.C or Everton will all of a sudden be top 4 coz they put 1 goal past us on the 1st day of the season.
When Ancelotti came in they played as well as they are now, where did they finish?

Can Gedson Fernandes make a name for himself?

Seems unlikely but he gets his big break here

I sincerely hope I am proved wrong. However, season after season we start without having the players we need in the squad and ready to hit the ground running. Everton and Leicester appear to have managed that this season. We shed so many valuable points that cost us at the back end of the season. 5 dropped out of six at our billion dollar stadium already in the last two EPL matches there.

Negative Spurs fans.

Atleast wait till after the game.

Looks like a good starting line up bearing in mind Son is injured, why risk Kane from the start.

Looks like 3 at the back with Sergio & Aurier attacking.

Have faith & atleast give the team picked a chance to prove you wrong.

We are playing a strong Chelsea team at home with NO/ZERO strikers. Hardly fair throwing Requilon into this match in which Jose has already indicated its a hiding to nothing. I can see Harry being thrown on at some stage. Our record at the new stadium is quite shocking and we look as if this will be more bragging rights for Chelsea. Once again unprepared before the season starts. Every club knows Levy is desperate for a striker so waiting until the very end of the transfer window yet again means he will find buying one more expensive and selling players to fund that purchase more expensive as he will not be offered what he is looking for. Wish I could read Bales mind as he watches this potential rout.

The old 5-5 formation hey? We will nullify their defence by going nowhere near them!
