Confirmed: Primarily An NFL Stadium With Spurs As Anchor Tenants

By The Boy -

For those of still sleepwalking into the brave new world, passing off propaganda and dreams as fact, here’s something to wake you up.

Quoted by Sports Pro Media, the Premier League club’s head of business development, Aidan Mullally, said that the new 62,000-seater stadium was built with the NFL in mind and that the venue is primed to offer a new level of brand exposure to audiences worldwide.

“It is an NFL stadium and that’s the key message. From the very start during the design phase, we have had the NFL in mind. The anchor tenant is Tottenham Hotspur, but this is designed to be a permanent home for the NFL outside the US.”

Premier League business lead, Aidan Mullally

Of course, the football team could benefit in the long term. That’s far from impossible.

However, the repayment terms of THFC’s debt of £637million is now going to be extend for a further period, so in the short to medium term the chances of the team seeing an extra nickel is less than slim.

It’s interesting that Mr Mullally would have only got this line about Spurs being merely ‘an anchor tenant’ from Levy & Co., yet our fearless leader has never been so brazen about the shopping centre to the fans.

Indeed, we got the beyond snide line about the stadium having zero effect upon the running of the club, specifically transfers.

One could equally assert that a nuclear war would also have no impact on Spurs’ current transfer window activities.

The feel good factor around the stadium is currently best described as indefatigable.

This was of course the very same adjective that George Galloway infamously used to describe his pal Saddam Hussein – and that didn’t end well either.

I’ve passed comment on here recently that Levy is now out of kilter with the rest of football – but he’s also eaten into his own diary.

The departures of Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen and Christian Eriksen will come much sooner in the life of the new arena than intended, and Levy will only have the monies raised from their sales to play with.

Not this summer, but certainly the next one could prove extremely sticky for the Teflon one, because broadcast rights monies are galloping upwards. Meaning that even so called smaller sides will be able to offer players good deals.

If Spurs are still picking up characters like Aurier and Moura, whilst seeing true Champions League grade players exit, there’s only going to be one outcome.

Anchor tenant used to mean something in retail once upon a time.

Store that were never going anywhere, like House of Fraser, HMV, British Home Stores and Debenhams. Times change.

The Lane t shirt £19 delivered.

The bank are owed £637m.

That’s the headline, the conclusion, the lot.

Doesn’t matter what we say now. He’s just blatantly took the piss. For those comments to come from. A club official, and not have been corrected by the club says it all. We are tenants at our own home. We owned that ground for 100 +years and now we are reduced to anchor tenants. He got lucky with poch. Got lucky with jol as he appointed santini. I get it football has changed. But he continues to shop at aldi, charge waitrise prices and hope we make top 4 for another 50_70m quid extra. He ain’t been the reason spurs get record revenue, sky and bt are and anyone who can’t see that, God help you. Really really pissed off with this now. Wanker

So based on that one quote we now don’t own our stadium in your opinion. And that’s how we should all be feeling today after the events of the weekend. Ok. Sad day for us

Saying the words “its an NFL stadium” is something cos there are many Spurs fans who don’t seem to realise this.
Just look at it. Its an NFL/Event arena with a fold away football pitch.

I’ll say it once more and its copyrighted: TURF IS HALLOWED. NOT RETRACTABLE.

What these lunatics tend to ignore is ENIC to us to the BOTTOM of the Premier League. That’s where we were when Levy had to ring up Harry to save his bacon, which Harry did…in style and some….with zero help. That got the club CL football and momentum, which Levy did his best to stump by hiring AVB after sacking Harry. Now Maurice has got us back up there….with zero help and its a situation that could never be sustained. Poch is only guilty of taking the money and towing the bollox project party line.

But what can you do? Its like banging your head against a brick wall.

What a negative spin on a great day for us. That place is amazing, we get to spend the next 50 years with a massive 1 up on Arsenal and the Emirates. Every nfl game, skywalk, incentive to spend an early 3 hours and stay behind after games spending money towards OUR club is such a positive to us. And the prestige it adds to us that it’s the best about. I can’t believe people are so short sighted. Would people honestly settle for a bog standard Emirates just so we can sign a few mitrovics and Denis surez’s

Listening to radio reports its clear that ENIC make no secret of actively deterring people from calling the new stadium White Hart Lane. We are witnessing the erasing of a football club. Once the naming rights are in the stadium will be THFC free when spoke of. Spurs fans coming off like fucking budgerigars….all the comments are about “the scale” yep, hypnotised by big shiney things, that’s all it took.
Can’t believe the active participation in the destruction of a football club.

A big shiney NFL/events bowl. Kneel before Zod.

2 games a year for 10 years doesnt pay for the added debt for all the add ons of an NFL stadium. The NFL has tapped out the market & wants to expand but the only team I see leaving at this point is the Panthers (owned by Fulham). Levy has played a gambit hoping against hope that it will work out. Doubt it

My mate is adamant everything’s pochs fault. So as I look back over these trophy laden 2 decades under twatface and uncle Joe certain facts become clear. 11 managerial combos in 19 years, some with a dof, some without. No clear plan then. Net spends near the bottom of the league consistently, so no real investment then. Now the lobotomy victims will point to things like he had to sack x y or z cos it was going wrong. I’d suggest that if xy or z were given the players they actually wanted to work with then maybe things wouldnt have gone wrong. Net spends at the bottom of the league is irrelevant? Obviously. That’s why we got the full backs we have so that’s total Bollox. This is the real world. We needed and still need to retain players we the fans can see are quality. We need the ego maniac to shop out the crap that is currently doing a great job for him in that it gives him something to hide behind, we have a squad, we can’t get people in til we move these out. Sell the fuckers. It ain’t rocket science. Get them off the wages, out the club. Don’t spout a load of crap about the academy, it’s garbage. And don’t Daniel tell me that as a fan I want to see players come thru the academy. I don’t give a toss if they come from Mars as long as they win trophies for this long suffering club. And now you come out with what some of us have said for a long time now, it just confirms that they don’t care about THFC, the fans, the residents of Worcester avenue or anyone else who gets in the way of the new England patriots turning up every week. It’s a fucking disgrace what’s happening at that club and there’s one person responsible. Give you a clue, it ain’t the manager

Oh dear. You try to tell people…you use basic English…😌

No, Levy has never come out with statements like that, in fact he’s employing people in the wide world of the web to shut down opinions such as those.
THFC has been infiltrated and taken apart. If anyone is going to the NFL/events arena that has replaced our clubs home, visit the museum. That’s what its there for……then have a halloumi burger.

HH you’re the only one talking sense, according to the flywheel loose deluded dribblers, agreeing with you makes one a lapdog. The handfull of Spurs on here have their eyes open, the lapdogs are filling Levy and Lewis pockets….oh wait, Lewis doesn’t make any money from Tottenham…he’s in it for…..err ….what is he in it for? Same reason he’s in Argentina.

A very pertinent article H, containing an unbelievably brazen statement from a Spurs executive employee that could only have been sanctioned by Levy. Galling would be one way of describing it. Keith Burkenshaw’s famous quote also springs to mind … “There used to be a football club over there!” If it all goes according to plan, which is a big if, THFC might be the financial beneficiary of such an arrangement in the future, however with a very minimal contract of 2 NFL games per season currently, that is a big if. Either way, the juxtaposition of the wording “this is an NFL stadium … with Tottenham Hotspur as the anchor tenant” leaves the punter in no apparent doubt as to the seniority of the relationship between the potential NFL occupant, versus the actual EPL occupant. The words “fuck off” spring to mind!

Alas H, I’ve already chatted to some people who aren’t unduly concerned by this statement. Aside from the fact that we are a Tennant at out own home for the last century and a bit. Anyone who thinks this nfl shit is gonna be of any use to THFC just go to the top of a tall building and end it. THFC is the vehicle to pay the debt off that’s all. Conveniently linked with new signings again. Season tickets due soon then,??? Same shit different season.

H, that future is already here. Smaller sides are already bringing in players of a much higher calibre than spurs. Look at the quality of Felipe Anderson at West Ham or some of the talent arriving at Leicester and Wolves. I struggle to remember the last upgrade at spurs. Toby for Fazio perhaps or Sonny for chadli? A long time ago anyway for a club that has since challenged for the title. Given we won’t receive full market value for Toby – or CE (because he’ll be in the final year of his contract) levy will not be upgrading them either. The reckoning could easily come as early as this summer if poch decides he’s already done as well as he can on zero net spend. Then the hunt will be on for another miracle worker.
