Come & Get Me Plea Poised To Spoil Spurs’ Summer

By The Boy -

Christian Eriksen’s hopes of joining Real Madrid just took another kick in the teeth.

The Sun are carrying ‘come and get me quotes’ from Paul Pogba who’s currently on a promo tour in Tokyo.

“After this season and everything that happened this season, with my season being my best season as well… I think for me it could be a good time to have a new challenge somewhere else.

“I am thinking of this: to have a new challenge somewhere else.”

The article goes on to cite Real Madrid as fabourites to sign the Red Devil, with Juventus also interested.

Without funds from selling Eriksen, Tottenham’s summer is going to to be a muted one.

All the chatter in the back pages and social media to date has been about the exit of Christian and Toby, yet it’s looking increasingly likely neither will be sold.

Whine all you like, but Spurs are still on the periphery in every single transer deal they are linked with. The perrenial bridesmaid, hoping to maybe cop off with the cameraman, or his mate. Or somesome helpiing with the catering.

If a number of repsected sources are true – while well run clubs are going about their business in a forthright manner, Tottenham are preparing to welcome Marcus Guano For Brains Edwards to the fold.

You could not make it up.

Interesting take on the potentially great news that Toby and Eriksen – two world-class players who helped us reach the CL Final – look like they stay at Spurs! If we can keep what we have and add Ndombele and Sessegnon…maybe Lo Celso… then it’s a dream window.

I cant believe no one is looking to buy Toby.

What is the world coming to?

Still one of the top 3 defenders in the PL.

Doesnt Tielmans have a 40 mill release clause? Surely we should be looking at this (nigh on) proven pl player?

Erickson. If we bump up your money can you bump up your effort? If yes he can stay. Toby must stay. I reckon we could scrape up £200 mil to bring 3 quality players in. Rose must stay too. We’ll be ready for next season to challenge on two fronts not 3 or 4

Forget signing players like celso, nbele ,etc. We are tottenham ,also rans in everything we do. We had the chance of winning the premiership and champs league, very recently but we’re not ready because of lack of investment. Not talking about spending £300 million
Just one or two quality players. Liverpool where there for the taking but our wimps played like wimps, fucking champions league final and we don’t turn up.
Real Madrid want winners,so I’m surprised that they supposedly want Eriksson . Pogba to Madrid and Eriksson to man utd.
Incomings , no quality just maybees.

Erickson basically screwed himself out of a transfer with his I’m not happy so I’ll half arse it attitude. Toby on the other hand was a model pro. I’d be extremely surprised if no one takes him for a bargain 25 mil.
If anyone thinks taking them into the season without fresh contracts agreed is a good thing is bananas IMO. Puts us in a very weak position and with very little to no money to spend.

If we pay £70m or anywhere near it for Lo Celso then we’re being mugged with a capital M ffs!
Get a grip! PSG don’t shift him for nothing!
We’re going to get our pants pulled down they way some fans think!

Tielemans is the player we should go for and maybe Ndombele if the price is right!
Along with another forward!
Walker peters at right back or he goes, what’s the point in him staying otherwise??

Your all forgetting the attacking options we already have and the hellish injuries we’ve had on the back of the World Cup
Don’t forget we’ve got payments to make on the best stadium in the country, be realistic, we haven’t got the income of UTD CIty Liverpool or Chelsea but we can pay more then we have been over the last few years!!

Marcus “The Mini- Messi-ah” Edwards. Could he be the one to lead the mighty Spurs into the Promised Land of Titles and Trophies? In a striking similarity to our Lord, he was misunderstood and crucified by popular public opinion and now appears to be having a Second Coming. Glory, Glory, Hallelujah the conveyor belt keeps rolling on.

All these “Come and get me pleas(e)” from well paid professional sportsmen at this time of year. You would think that they’d been kidnapped by Somalian pirates instead of being well remunerated (CE23 may have a point) blokes living a very comfortable lifestyle. I think Real Madrid are flirting with Pogba to get Eriksen’s price to a realistic level and Levy is flirting with N’Dombele to get Lo Celso’s price down at Real Betis. The likely outcome is that someone will get their pants pulled down at the end of it all. My money’s on it being Levy.

Does penny wise, pound foolish remind some of you about anyone?
The list of players we have scouted over the years and failed to sign is too long to mention. Levy’s style of negotiating in the transfer market is obsolete. Typical of our club is to leak that we made a late bid for Daniel James of Swansea, now a Man Utd player. You don’t have to pay silly money for players if you are clever and decisive in the market, look at Ajax. We should hire their scouting staff. Levy will never change and Poch is poised to leave.

Well H, there is another thinly veiled ‘come and get me plea’ which I have just watched, from a certain Mr Tanguy Ndombele.

The upshot of that interview is one of two choices. Either our diminutive supremo is going to have another Eden Hazard moment, whereby a generational talent who was willing to join us was lost, or there is a faint chance that a lesson was learned on the subject of ‘false economy’.

A seminal moment in my opinion regarding the level of ambition and the future direction to be taken by our football club. The words, over to you Mr Levy, spring to mind!
