Clubs have ‘obtained initial information’ about 24-yr-old Spurs ace with ‘numerous admirers’

By Saikat -

Tottenham defender Japhet Tanganga has been linked with a move away from the club at the end of the season.

The 24-year-old has a contract with the North London club until the summer of 2025, but he has struggled for game time this season and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time. He has started just twice in the league this season.

Tanganga was highly rated when he broke through to the first-team scene, but he has not been able to establish himself as a regular starter this year. A player of his ability needs to play more often and sitting on the bench at Spurs will only affect his development negatively.

According to a report from FussballTransfers, ‘numerous admirers’ are keen on signing the player and five european clubs (Eintracht Frankfurt, Bayer Leverkusen, Union Berlin, VfB Stuttgart and Hamburger SV) have now ‘obtained initial information’ regarding the defender’s future.

Tottenham should look to cash in on him if they are unwilling to give him regular opportunities at the club next season.

The North London outfit are in need of defensive reinforcements and they should look to invest the proceeds from the sale into a quality defender who will start every week.

Cristian Romero is the only reliable defender at the club right now. Spurs will have to bring in the right reinforcements during the summer transfer window.

It has been a difficult season for them and they are set to miss out on Champions League football next year.

It will be interesting to see if they can bring in the right manager this summer and build a squad capable of challenging for trophies next year.
