Club sees bid rejected for 25-year-old defender – another offer is being prepared

Tottenham have rejected a bid for Brazilian defender Emerson Royal from Saudi club Al Nassr.

That’s according to The Sun’s Tom Barclay, who claims that the North London outfit has swiftly rejected an offer for Royal who is happy at Spurs at the moment.

However, he adds that the Saudi Pro League club are preparing another offer to tempt Spurs into selling him.

He shared the updates on X:

“Tottenham have rejected a bid from Al-Nassr for Emerson Royal.”

“Emerson understood to be happy at Spurs, but Al-Nassr (where Ronaldo plays) also believed to be readying another offer.”

Emerson Royal has seen his playing time limited this season after falling down the pecking order under Ange Postecoglou.

He is not the most technically gifted player, but the Brazilian international has proven to be an important squad member for Ange Postecoglou.

He has showcased versatility in occupying different positions in the backline when required.

His playing time has been limited since Pedro Porro replaced him as the first-team right-back but he remains a decent backup.

With Al Nassr said to be preparing another offer for the Brazilian, whether it is enough to temp Levy into selling him remains to be seen.
