Tottenham defender Emerson Royal has been linked with a move away from the club this summer.
AC Milan are keen on signing him and the Italian club’s officials are hoping to wrap up the transfer by Wednesday. Meanwhile, a report from Calciomercato claims that Tottenham have already given an ultimatum to the Italian club that they will only let the deal happen if €15 million is offered for the Brazilian.
Milan have offered €13 million so far, but that will not be enough to get the deal done.
Tottenham are in no mood to reduce their asking price and Milan will have to accept their demands if they want to sign the versatile defender. The 25-year-old has not been a regular starter for the North London club and he needs to move on in search of regular playing time.
Joining Milan would be ideal for his career right now. The Italian outfit will be able to provide him with regular game time and he will add more defensive quality to their team. He is unlikely to play regularly at Tottenham if he stays at the club and the player will be desperate to move on. He will hope that Milan agree to the demands of the London club eventually.
Spurs will hope to use the proceeds from his departure to improve their squad. They will be competing in the Europa league next season and they will need a deeper squad in order to deal with the fixture congestion. The €15 million from Emerson’s departure could prove to be very handy in the market.
It remains to be seen how the situation develops over the next few days.
