Tottenham Hotspur had a busy last few hours on deadline day as the summer transfer window closed. The London-based wrapped its deal with FC Barcelona while also reaching an agreement to terminate the contract of Serge Aurier.
Nonetheless, Tottenham snuck in another deal before the window closed as they announced the departure of Cameron Carter-Vickers, who has joined Celtic FC on loan for the rest of the 2021-22 season.
Carter-Vickers had initially had one year left on his deal, but as Football London’s Alasdair Gold reported, the defender extended his contract last year with Tottenham, which pushed the club’s option for another year.
The loan to Celtic marks the seventh time that Carter-Vickers leaves Tottenham on a temporary basis but has yet to find a home despite being 23-year-old.
It will be interesting to see if the American defender can carve out a spot on the Scottish club’s backline this season. If not, he’ll be back in north London next summer.
A no nonesense player ,but unfortunately lacking in quality for the modern game.Hopefully Celtic will take up the offer anf give him game time.
I like CCV sort of no nonsense player but he did get tangled up against Pacos mind you he hasnt played much.
Club should either keep or let go enough of this in/out.
