There’s a good in-depth piece on the mechanics of a modern football medical from FourFourTwo some might wish to read.
In 2019, it’s a bit more thorough than ‘look to your side and cough’, followed by having your knee tapped with one of those little toffee hammers.
“There’s no standard medical as such – every club has its own way of doing things. Usually a player being transferred to a club will undergo a two-day medical”Dave Fevre Football Medical Association
Anyone believing that Tanguy NDombele’s visit to Hotspur Way last week was purely to be wowed by bricks and mortar must have the undeveloped brain of an 11-year-old.
After all, the stadium and Hotspur Way didn’t influence Kyle Walker or Danny Rose very much, did they?
The medical on Tuesday is hopefully the end of it, but certainly wasn’t all of it.
