Tottenham Hotspur has made additions this summer, with many supporters thinking that a special season is upon them in 2022-23. However, despite the improvements, Spurs will need to begin offloading players, which will likely include Japhet Tanganga.
According to The Athletic, Bournemouth is in talks with the north London club over a move for the 23-year-old defender. The report says that sources have told them that the two Premier League clubs are discussing a loan move and permanent transfer.
However, Bournemouth isn’t alone in their interest as a couple of Serie A clubs in Napoli, and AC Milan are linked to Tanganga. Furthermore, with the addition of Clément Lenglet, there’s more competition in the central defense, so he could look at other opportunities.
Tanganga made 19 appearances last season, with 11 coming in the Premier League. Nonetheless, his 2021-22 campaign was cut short after dealing with a knee injury.
The Athletic doesn’t add the asking price Spurs would want for the defender, but Transfermarkt puts his value at £11 million.
23 is no age for a centre hslf. The boy has shown potential but is injury prone. A season long loan to a club where he is going to get regular playing time is the next step in his development.
Seconded..
Time to offload Tanga. Average squad player at best. At 23 yrs old he can be a regular 1st team starter somewhere else… and give us some more squids in the bank
