Boost for Tottenham: Injury expert claims midfielder could return from injury “this weekend”

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur’s Giovani Lo Celso is inching closer to a possible return, igniting hopes of his availability for the upcoming clash against Everton this weekend

He was initially said to be a doubt for the Everton game as well, with chances of a return for the match against Brighton.

But as per the latest from injury expert Dr Rajpal Brar, the 27-year-old could be in contention to play against the Toffees.

Dr. Brar’s assessment, based on limited available information, suggests that while Lo Celso’s injury doesn’t appear severe, a late fitness test awaits the midfielder ahead of the Everton fixture.

Speaking to the Tottenham News that the injury seems non-serious, potentially hinting at a swift return this weekend.

He told Tottenham News:

“It is hard to make much of it other than it’s not serious.

“If it’s a knock or very mild muscular injury, then Lo Celso could possibly be back for this weekend.

“It’s just very limited information.

“He’ll have to undergo a late fitness test surely and will possibly be doing light training at the start of the week before the game against Everton.“

Spurs who are already short in the midfield could really do with Lo Celso’s availability against the Toffees.

They have James Maddison out until February and Rodrigo Bentancur who made his long-awaited return in November suffered a set-back on his first start and has been sidelined again.

The Argentine midfielder was given an opportunity to display his quality in the absence of James Maddison.

He started against Aston Villa and Manchester City and impressed with brilliant performances, scoring in both games.

He was benched for the match against Newcastle but then picked up an injury in training ahead of the Nottingham match which saw him miss the game.

The match against Everton is expected to be a tough one but Spurs will hope to make it 3 wins from 3.
