Boost for Spurs: Player with 21 assists has informed his close allies he wants to join Tottenham

Timo Werner has informed those close to him that he wants to join Tottenham on a permanent deal.

Tottenham Hotspur completed the signing of Timo Werner from RB Leipzig on loan in January, a deal which includes the possibility of a permanent transfer at the end of his loan spell.

The clause in Werner’s loan agreement presents Spurs with a golden chance to secure his services permanently for the modest fee of £15m. However, there’s a catch: this clause expires once Euro 2024 begins.

Ever since his arrival, Werner has made a decent impact, contributing with goals and assists despite his limited playing time.

The centre-forward’s promising start has triggered discussions about his future in the North London. Despite his contract with RB Leipzig running until June 2026, uncertainty hangs over his stay with the Bundesliga side.

Many believe that for £15m, he will be considered a bargain signing, given his significant experience in European football.

According to Telegraph’s Football’s Matt Law, Werner has reportedly expressed a strong desire to forge a lasting bond with Tottenham and has already informed his close associates of this decision.

Since donning the Tottenham jersey, Werner has scored two goals and assisted two other in just 446 minutes of Premier League action across eight appearances.

Before rejoining Leipzig, Werner scored 23 goals and provided 21 assists in 89 appearances for Chelsea.

A final decision on the former Chelsea man will depend on how he performs between now and the end of the season.
