Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Jermaine Jenas has now heaped praise on summer signing James Maddison for his performances since joining the club.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder joined Tottenham from Leicester City at the start of the season and he has been phenomenal for his new club.
Jenas believes that Maddison will be a key player for the club in the coming seasons and he will go down as the second-best player in the club’s modern history after Harry Kane.
Jenas said to Mail Sport: “Ouch, that’s very tough. I’m going to go Keano. All the songs are about Keano. And I think Maddison is going to be that. I think he’s going to be the biggest thing at the club since Harry Kane.”

These claims from the former Tottenham midfielder are certainly massive and some might feel that they are premature.
There is no doubt that Maddison has established himself as a key player for Tottenham and he has the reality to develop into a top-class player in the coming seasons.
However, he will need to perform at a high level consistently in order to be recognised as one of the modern greats at the north London club. In addition to his ability, Maddison will have to work on his availability as well. Kane was ever-present for Tottenham during his time at the club and it remains to be seen whether Maddison can work on his fitness.
The 26-year-old playmaker is currently sidelined with an injury and Tottenham will be hoping that he can return to action soon and help the side finish the season strongly and secure Champions League qualification this season.
