Big boost for Ange Postecoglou ahead of the City game as Alasdair Gold provides the latest on attacker

According to Tottenham Hotspur correspondent Alasdair Gold, there is a chance Richarlison could make the bench against Manchester City.

The 26-year-old forward underwent pelvic surgery to treat an ongoing groin issue after the Chelsea game and has been in recovery since. He was expected to be sidelined for several weeks.

He made a significant step towards a return yesterday as he trained on grass for the first time since the surgery.

Reports claimed that is expected to return by Christmas, but he could make a surprise return this week against Manchester City, as reported by Alasdair Gold.

The Tottenham expert hinted at the possibility of Richarlison’s bench inclusion for the City clash, provided he completes Saturday’s training without complications

He said (via Football London):

“Richarlison was expected to return to training on Saturday so could be a late contender to take a place on the bench if he comes through the session without any issues after his recovery from groin surgery.”

Should Richarlison make the squad, his presence would offer manager Ange a substantial boost, providing an additional attacking option from the bench alongside Veliz.

Despite this potential lift, Tottenham continues to grapple with multiple injury concerns, missing key players like Perisic, Sessegnon, and Romero, who is serving the final game of a suspension, as they prepare to face a formidable Manchester City side.
