Tottenham’s struggles in the Premier League continue, with their recent 2-1 defeat to Leicester City adding to an already difficult season.
This loss marks Spurs’ sixth defeat in their last seven league matches, leaving them struggling in 15th place with just a single point during this dismal run.
Despite mounting criticism directed at manager Ange Postecoglou, the club remains steadfast in its support of the Australian.
Club correspondent Ben Jacobs has noted that Tottenham’s board is standing behind Postecoglou, even as the pressure intensifies.
Jacobs also reported that the club is prioritizing reinforcements during the January transfer window to help the manager navigate these challenging circumstances.
Writing on his X handle, he stated:
“Spurs continue to back Ange Postecoglou following the 2-1 loss to Leicester. He is expected to stay in charge as Spurs look for January signings to support him.”

Tottenham have already taken steps to address their squad’s depth issues, including the recent signing of 21-year-old Czech goalkeeper Antonín Kinský for £12.5 million. The move was necessitated by injuries to both first-choice keepers, Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster.
However, the goalkeeping crisis is only one aspect of a broader issue affecting the squad.
Key players across multiple positions remain sidelined, creating significant challenges for Postecoglou. Among those out of action are Destiny Udogie, Cristian Romero, Micky van de Ven, and James Maddison.
The attacking lineup has been especially hard-hit, with injuries to Dominic Solanke, Timo Werner, Brennan Johnson, and Richarlison further compounding the team’s woes. This lengthy injury list has made it difficult for Postecoglou to field a consistent and competitive lineup.
Given the circumstances, continuing to back Postecoglou appears to be a sensible decision. The sheer scale of the injury crisis would test even the most experienced managers.
With a few days remaining in the January transfer window, Tottenham have an opportunity to bolster their ranks and provide much-needed stability. Postecoglou will need to maximize the resources at his disposal while awaiting the return of key players.
