‘Been told…’ – Fabrizio Romano drops transfer update regarding Spurs player

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Giovani Lo Celso has been linked with a move away from the London club this summer and it appears that the Argentine international is finally closing in on an exit.

According to journalist Fabrizio Romano, Tottenham have secured a loan agreement with Villarreal for the transfer of the 26-year-old midfielder.

However, the Spanish club will be signing the player without an option to buy. Furthermore, Spurs will have an option to interrupt his loan deal and sell him during the January transfer window if a permanent offer comes in.

The 26-year-old was on loan at Villarreal during the second half of last season and he was quite impressive for Unai Emery’s side. Lo Celso played a key role in their run to the semi-finals of the Champions League and he will be hoping to perform at a high level this season as well.

It is evident that the Argentine is not a key part of Antonio Conte’s first-team plans at the Premier League club and he needed a move away from Spurs in order to play regular first-team football.

Lo Celso seemed well settled at Villarreal last season and he will be expected to make an immediate impact at the Spanish club.

It will be interesting to see if he can continue to impress under Emery and secure a permanent move to the Spanish club in future.

Meanwhile, Italian journalist Gianluca Di Marzio is also reporting that the player is on his way to Villarreal on a loan deal.

Lo Celso is a decent player, easily worth more £20m. He just doesn’t fit in to the EPL that well. Villa sold their England U/19 Chuckuwemeka for £20m and he has only played 13 professional games, most as sub. Lo Celso has 200 games under his belt.

My point was that Villareal wouldn’t pay £40m be ause they do not pay tgat sort of money

It’s going to be loans for both LoCelso (who I still think is a good player) and that lazy, overpaid sack of sh*t Wobblybelly…

I wouldn’t pay 20m for him if I were that club. We got mugged – again – and are trying to pass on some buyers regret. Levy is a tool.

Some of these click bait headlines are really reaching new levels of desperation. Quotes from a nobody like; “I think”, “it’s possible”, “awaiting update” “they like”,

Whats it goi going end up as? Quotes like; “I” “good” “or” and “seen”?! 😂

Yup. Villareal’s record signing is about £20m. They have done well out of this deal, 2 years with a player who fits in well to the Spanish La Liga and no obligation to buy! He’s out of the club but we need funds.

I suspect hes been over valued by Levy. It shouldnt be too hard to find a club for an Argentine international otherwise
