“Been told” – Fabrizio Romano drops exciting Tottenham update – confirms “verbal agreement”

By Mehdi Gokal -

In a significant development, renowned journalist Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur has reached a verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou to become their new manager.

Tottenham’s search for a new manager has been ongoing for a long time now with the club failing to find a long-term replacement for Conte who was sacked in March.

Initially, former Bayern Munich manager Julian Nagelsmann was the frontrunner for the position, but negotiations fell through.

Feyenoord manager Arne Slot then emerged as a strong contender, but talks broke down over payment disputes with the Dutch club.

However, it seems that the search may finally be coming to an end with the Australian set to be appointed the new manager.

Fabrizio Romano in his latest update has confirmed that the North London club has reached a verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou.

According to Romano, the Australian manager is set to sign a two-year deal, with an option for an additional season.

The next step in the process is for Tottenham to find a way to navigate the situation with Celtic.

He tweeted:

“Understand Tottenham have finally reached verbal agreement with Ange Postecoglou as next manager.”

“Been told it will be a two year-deal with an option included for further season, so potentially valid until June 2026.”

“Next step to get it done: find a way with Celtic.”

Ange Postecoglou has previously been compared with Pep Guardiola for his remarkable work at Celtic.

He won 5 trophies in 2 years with the Scottish club including a domestic treble this season.

The Australian manager’s track record suggests that he could bring a winning mentality and transformative approach to the North London club.
