BBC Pundit Nigel Reo Coker is unsure about a Tottenham signing this summer.
Tottenham Hotspur completed a deal to sign Manor Solomon earlier this summer.
The 23-year-old winger was on loan at Fulham last season and he will look to make his mark at Tottenham now. He’s already well-settled in the Premier League and he will be expected to make an immediate impact.
Former Premier League midfielder Nigel Reo-Coker has now reacted to his signing this summer.
The former Premier League midfielder believes that Solomon could be one of those signings that just make up the numbers and he is unlikely to make a significant impact at the North London club.
He said on the BBC Football Daily podcast: “I’m interested to see how it plays out and how he’d fit into the Tottenham team now or whether it’s just the numbers game from Tottenham, because a number of players have fallen by the wayside at Tottenham.”
AD“For me he’s a player who has come in for the numbers game, listening to the manager he wants to get Tottenham attacking, he’s someone who can fit into that dynamic, but he won’t be a difference maker who will take them to the next level.”
Tottenham needed to improve their attacking options heading into the summer transfer window and the arrivals of Solomon and James Maddison will have certainly improved them.
The 23-year-old showed his quality at Fulham last season and he could be a very useful option for Ange Postecoglou.
Tottenham wingers Richarlison and Son Heung-min were quite underwhelming last season and they had to sign Arnaut Danjuma on loan during the second half of last season.
It is evident that they needed to sign a quality winger this summer and Solomon certainly fits the profile.
The talented young winger will be hoping to prove his critics wrong and cement himself as a regular starter for the North London giants.
