Bale Dropped And An Argentinian Added Make My Plausible XI Capable Of Beating Palace | graphic

By The Boy -

This will be another examination, after Bale’s phantom weight performance against Fulham, I’d be amazed to see him start again so soon. The idea that all the 31-year-old needed was a run-out, and that Mourinho was somehow holding him back or whatever was fanciful. As we established in short order, the whole Bale is back campaign was a nice idea, but now needs to be quietly cancelled.

Subs’ bench from: Hart, Whiteman, Doherty, Tanganga, Davies, Dier, Rodon, Sissoko, Winks, Bergwijn, Bale, Lamela, Vinícius

I would start with Bale if fit alongside Kane and Son with perhaps Ali. We need to get all these guys playing together with the same fluency that Kane and Son as a duo have shown. Son clearly likes playing alongside Bale. It seems to lift his game. It must also have a positive impact for us with the opposition seeing that front line. We have to start every game with intensity and try and get in front and in control of the game in the first half. If Ali and Bale tire in the second then bring on Moura and Lamela to add their energy and forward momentum. I am interested to see the difference today on Bale with Requilion and Aurier as attacking wingbacks. The negative impact of Davies and Docherty on the whole momentum of the side cannot and should not be underestimated.

Problem with Lamela is he tends to go round in circles & over elaborate every thing…I’d start Moura over Lamela. I can’t see any player saying to the manager I need a rest, I look at all teams in the top 10, and the main strikers have all been rested at some stage. I’m also curious as to why ib the last 20 mins of games Vinicius hasnt been put on thereby giving us someone who can hold the ball up & run the channels….

Not at all,but it is the NLD and both sides will raise their game.We should beat Palace so rest Sonny because he needs it,we have the players to win.

Son might be worthy of a rest but he doesn’t “need one. If he did he’d let José know

If he’s fit he starts for me. If he’s poor then haul him off early or half time.. And that goes for everyone apart from Hojberg Toby and Lloris.

If he’s fully fit & available he’s on the bench…. tbh Im not sure what he brings to the table… he does join our ever expanding list of first team players who use one of their feet for balance only tho…😏

Anyone else think Son sooner or later needs a rest he has been an ever present in our starting 11 pretty much in all of our league games… where as every one else either via rest/injury bar Lloris has been out at some stage. I’d like to see .Tanganga in at RB, I’d also start Moura but play him central he is direct, runs at players & can pass with either foot

My guess is Toby will be rotated out for Dier, as he played the full game on Thursday. Or will we see more of Joe Rodon, the Welsh wonderkid?

Sonny should score tomorrow, Palace are probably his favourite opposition (also, they are sh!t).

I thought Lo Celso was back when I read the headline…unfortunately Lamela falls into the same bracket as Bale..good player but can’t be relayed upon..let’s hope Lo Celso isn’t more of the same.
