‘Attitude’ problem reported within Hotspur Way as Postecoglou looks to wield Spurs axe

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly looking to cash in on the French midfielder Tanguy Ndombele this summer.

The 26-year-old has not been able to live up to the expectations of the North London club since joining them in 2018 for a fee of around £55 million.

The midfielder was on loan at Italian club Napoli last term, but the Scudetto winners decided not to sign him permanently at the end of the season.

According to a report from the Sun, Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou was prepared to give the player a clean slate when he took over. However, the Frenchman has failed to impress during pre-season.

The report claims that Ndombele has not impressed the manager with his ‘timekeeping’ and ‘attitude’.

Tottenham are now prepared to sell him if they can find someone willing to pay up before the summer transfer window closes.

Ndombele is unlikely to get regular game time at Tottenham and it makes sense for him to leave the club as well.

The 26-year-old will be looking to get his career back on track with regular football this season.

There is no doubt that the French midfielder has the technical attributes to thrive at a top club, but he will need to work on his mentality and attitude.

As for Tottenham, they will be hoping to invest the proceeds from his sale into a new midfielder. Tottenham need to bring in a quality central midfielder who can control the tempo of the game and recycle possession.
