Approach made for Tottenham ace with a summer loan move now likely

Tottenham Hotspur remain dedicated to developing their academy players, preparing them for future roles in the club’s first team.

Spurs boast talents like Ashley Phillips, Alejo Veliz, Jamie Donley, and Mikey Moore, all of whom have the potential to become key starters in North London.

One of their standout young defenders, Alfie Dorrington, is expected to secure a loan move during the upcoming transfer window.

According to Football Insider, the Englishman is likely to join a Championship club this summer, with approaches made.

Dorrington’s impressive season with Tottenham’s U21 team has drawn the attention of multiple EFL clubs.

The centre-back’s contributions were pivotal in securing the Premier League 2 title this season, clinching with a 3-1 victory over Sunderland in the final last weekend.

Dorrington has also been a regular in Ange Postecoglou’s first-team training sessions and matchday squads, being named in 10 English top-flight squads this season, although he has yet to make his debut on the field.

The London-born defender joined Tottenham’s youth academy at the age of 13 and signed his first professional contract last June.

By October, he was training with the senior squad and had captained both the U19 and U21 teams.

A loan spell in the Championship would offer Dorrington crucial experience in senior football, aiding his development and preparing him to play a significant role for Spurs in the future.
