Tottenham’s early lead did not last very long as Anthony Gordon equalised with a tidy finish just 2 minutes later.
The goal however is a massively controversial one with a big handball call in the buildup.
Spurs try to play it from the back and Sarr ends up misplacing the pass. Bergvall reaches to it and toes it, which appears to blatantly deflect off Joelinton’s arm and into the path of Bruno Guimaraes who releases Gordon.
The former Everton man makes no mistake finishing past Austin and despite the protests of Tottenham players, the goal is given.

Should this have been called a handball on Joelinton in the build up to Newcastle's goal? 🤔 pic.twitter.com/HAvNDC08mH

The handball was blatant and it was surprising to see the VAR not chalk it off. This will be one of the big topics of the game regardless of the result.
