Ange Postecoglou has delivered updates on the fitness of Cristian Romero and Pape Sarr ahead of Tottenham Hotspur’s Europa League clash with Hoffenheim on Thursday.
Spurs’ chronic injury problems have been well-documented this season, with the Lilywhites often dealing with double-figure absences on a week-to-week basis.
That has been a major contributing factor to their awful form this season, which has seen them slip to 15th in the Premier League table — just eight points clear of the relegation zone — following their 3-2 defeat to Everton.
The Lilywhites travel to Germany to take on Hoffenheim in the Europa League on Thursday.
Postecoglou’s men will look to get their continental campaign back on track after taking just two points from their last three games, slipping to ninth in the table after winning each of their first three matches.
Spurs will continue on without a host of key players, including Micky van de Ven, Guglielmo Vicario and Destiny Udogie.
Ange Postecoglou addresses Romero and Sarr fitness

Postecoglou was also quizzed about the fitness of Cristian Romero, who has finally returned to training this week. However, he’s not ready to return to the pitch just yet.
“He’s training but he’s not travelled. He’s not playing. Probably another week to 10 days for him,” said Postecoglou (via Football.London).
Postecoglou was then asked for an update on Sarr after the midfielder came off in the 73rd minute against Everton.
“I think the only other one is Pape who got a slight knock from the weekend so he’s out,” he said.
On the severity of the knock, Postecoglou continued: “Yeah, he tried to train but he was still a bit sore from the weekend. We’re hoping it won’t be anything that keeps him out for too long. A chance for him at the weekend but the turnaround was too quick.”
