Ange Postecoglou declared first-team star ‘untouchable’ amid multiple approaches for him, reveals Romano

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham Hotspur received interest from over four potential suitors inquiring about their midfielder, Pape Matar Sarr.

That’s according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, who claims that despite significant interest in the youngster, Spurs rejected all offers as manager Ange Postecoglou deemed Sarr ‘untouchable’ from day one.

He said (via Last Word on Spurs):

“Tottenham Hotspur received more than four approaches this summer for Pape Matar Sarr.”

” Despite strong interest in talented midfielder, Spurs head coach Ange Postecoglou considered him untouchable since the very first day one.”

The 21-year-old recently admitted that he would like to stay at Spurs for as long as possible.

And last month, he made his dedication official by signing a new contract last month, extending his stay until June 2030.

He is having a breakthrough season under Ange Postecoglou, having established himself as one of the first names in his starting XI. He has made 20 appearances so far, scoring three and assisting two.

And he was the star player for Spurs once again against Brighton as he kicked start the comeback with the equaliser.

TBH Says:

The club and the player both are reaping benefits of Ange Postecoglou’s insistence of blocking any move for the youngster.

Ange has an eye to identify young talents and then turning them into first-team stars and Pape Matar Sarr is a prime example.
