This graph gives an at-a-glance understanding of how Tottenham quite characteristically played a ‘fast out the traps game’ against Dinamo Zagreb as they have against so many sides in all competitions this season. What was impressive on this occasion was that when Zagreb continued their attempts to get back into the game which they naturally initiated about 5 minutes after conceding, Spurs refused to sit back and wait it out, and instead pushed back.
Of course, this would have required Tottenham to have been sound defensively, these things aren’t an exact science. It’s not ‘your go, then ‘their go.
The culmination of this pressing tug of war was that it was Zagreb that buckled, and we scored again. Despite our guests keeping at it, Spurs stood firm. It is here that Hugo Lloris’ activity is worth a peek 👇.
This was a decent example of Tottenham doing that which they have failed to do on numerous occasions, and not screw up. Yet this was a game that José delivered a side with both attacking flair and defensive nous.
I guess #JoseOut requires a little less mental dexterity or common courtesy than #ThanksForHopefullySortingUsOutWithoutNeedingAFortuneMate might.

It’ll be back against teams Jose considers better than us, thats his way.
Mastering the low block (with fast transition/counters is a style worth knowing) we know it better. Shame we had to learn it on the job (no preseason friendlys to work it on) José knows attacking teams ain’t a problem for us. LEARN HOW TO SOAK UP, DEFEND WITHOUT PANICKING. take a breather. versatile wise team. Gwarn jose
Jose is learning that Spurs aren’t just any other club, he has to fit in.
Leave all that low-block stuff behind, we just ain’t having it brah… 😂
We looked strong and functional but also pressed up as we should be. They have to do it against Woolworths now and other ‘bigger’ teams.
Merson has Woolworths down to win 2-0, but then again, he is a bit of a wally… 😂
Hey, check out who’s partnering Kane in UEFA’s Ropey leeg teem of da weak:

“Still only have 5 or 6 quality starters in the whole squad”
Surely the extreme inconsistency shown throughout the squad during this season so far renders specific statements like that meaningless as a general rule?
Was mid-December to mid-February our blip or is the current good run our blip? Still only have 5 or 6 quality starters in the whole squad. The rest are poor / indifferent.
