“All indications are that Spurs will..”: Journalist says Spurs will make a move for PL star with 15 goals

By Mehdi Gokal -

Journalist Ben Jacobs believes Spurs will make a summer move for Premier League striker they believe is Kane’s replacement.

Tottenham Hotspur have been one of the busiest English club in the January transfer window, having secured the services of Timo Werner and Radu Dragusin this month.

Despite Ange claiming that there would be no more incomings, Spurs continue to be active in the market, aiming to sign one or two players as they approach the deadline.

Journalist Ben Jacobs has identified two players the North London outfit might consider bringing into the club. One could join on deadline day, while the other might be targeted in the summer.

Tottenham’s long-pursued target Conor Gallagher is one player he suggested the club might approach to secure in the final hours of the deadline day.

But a move for him was contingent on Hojbjerg leaving, which he is not. The Danish midfielder announced that he will stay at Spurs for the rest of the season.

And Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke is the other player Jacobs has mentioned as a potential consideration for the summer transfer window, while Spurs are actively seeking a suitable replacement for the club’s all-time top scorer, Harry Kane.

The striker is under contract with the Cherries until June 2027, after renewing his contract in September of the last year.

The 26-year-old has exhibited excellent form in the English top flight this season, scoring 13 goals and assisting 1 in 21 league games and 15 goals across all competitions.

Discussing Tottenham’s transfer plans for the deadline day on The Done Deal Show on YouTube, Ben Jacobs mentioned the following:

“Well if this was to develop it would tell you that Spurs have money, £50m+ you imagine so I would expect them to be as audacious as they can to get Conor Gallagher for a discount because midfield is the priority.

The only caveat to that is if Hojbjerg stays and they believe Solanke is the Kane replacement and you can move now. All indications are that Spurs will bring in a striker in the summer and will look to bring in a midfielder in the final few hours of the window.”

TBH Says:

With Gallagher staying at Chelsea for the rest of the season and Spurs not moving in for Solanke now, It looks like both Gallagher and Solanke will now be pursued in the summer.
