Agent claims he ‘made a lot of money’ thanks to Tottenham’s January signing

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur signed Radu Dragusin from Genoa at the start of the month.

The 21-year-old Romanian defender completed a£26 million move to the Premier League team and his agent has now revealed that he made a substantial amount of money from the transfer.

Dragusin’s agent Florin Manea made €4 million from the transfer and he believes that the commission was the highest in the history of Romanian football.

He said (h/t PlayTech): “I have an agreement with (Dragușin) from the beginning. I put everything on the table and say how much money I take. He gets my commission on email. I made a lot of money on this transfer, I think it was the biggest in Romanian football.

“Yes! Around €4m. My share, my money. That’s besides my partners. I took money from Tottenham and Genoa. I saw a broadcast where someone said I get €4m and the player only gets €3m. I get €4m in six years. Look how much money the player gets in six years. I don’t take a cent of the player’s salary.”

The 21-year-old defender bagged a lucrative long-term contract as well. It will be interesting to see if he can live up to the expectations and establish himself as a reliable performer in the Premier League for Tottenham now.

He was outstanding for Genoa in the Italian league and he has the qualities to succeed in England as well. Dragusin certainly has the physicality and technical ability to do well in the Premier League and Tottenham will be hoping that he can fulfill his potential with them.

Even though the player and his agent have made a substantial amount of money from the transfer, the move could still look like a bargain for Spurs in the long run if Dragusin manages to fulfill his potential at the London club.

Dragusin is already performing at a high level and he is only going to get better with the right guidance. Working under Ange Postecoglou could help him develop further and improve as a player. The Australian did well to groom young players during his time at Celtic.
