Pierre Hojbjerg is an extraordinary character, and perhaps one of the few Tottenham players to have enhanced his transfer value over the last seasons of disruption.
For me, any player describing what was a modest victory as an acceptable performance instantly commands my respect. The club’s microphone wallah was desperately wanting to push a narrative of deering do, however, this process of fixing Spurs is unlikely to be fast-tracked by beating Villa thanks to an own goal.
If you play for a club who’s owners’ only aim is to tread water, then you have to come to terms with that and still be fully committed. There’s going to be a fair amount of players that find that hard.
Seeing the lack of investment in the team, watching the team decline over your prime years as a player. That’s what Kane is seeing happen, which is why he wants to leave to be a winner. There no other way…
He definitely fits the profile.
We haven’t had a proper ball winning midfielder since Wanyama’s knees went. To think that PEH only came last season means that was a long time ago.
Criminal neglect of their responsibilities by the owners, again…
I took that from it too…
It really annoys me that Hugo is captain.
Long before this but some commentator was saying about the Japh sending off and how a proper captain would have been at him telling him to calm down.
Yes yes “Captain of France” “I remember the 90s” – heard it all before.
Lloris is an absolute joke of a captain, weak soundbites and weak performances from him week in week out
Son and Hojbjerg, by far our best players…..thats about it so far this season…everyone else needs to join in apart from Skipp, he has a free pass this season and tries his hardest..
I’ve never been in favour of GK’s as Captain. Pierre for me would be a great Capt.
Well Nuno’s pulled out the biggest weed in Dele so hopefully that will help. If he wants to slope around like a sloth then let him do it in the ropey conf.
Hojbjerg is the only player a manager asked to have and the Baldy backed him, that is why he is shining. that is what you get when you let the football people deal with the football side of the team and the egomaniac Baldy has to concede that and leave the football side of the business for Spurs to progress very simple cheers.
Like the guy a lot, one of the few along with Sonny (of course), Moura and Skippy who we can usually rely on to scrap for the badge. He should be made skipper.
The moral to that is if you’ve got nothing good to say, say nothing at all. Looking at Hojbjerg when he says the past month has not been good and that people need to roll their sleeves up and dig in (mi interpretation of his words) he then stops short as it seems he was about to mention some names who are hiding, and as a player in the team with them, must want to dig them out but too professional to do it publicly
I think the problem we have is that half of our players mean it when they say things like this, and the other half are just saying what they think people want to hear.
its a shambles
the thing is it’s irrelevant who the manager is, they’ll never get proper backing
buying prospects is simply jam tomorrow
not one player bought other than hojbjerg in the past few seasons has been oven ready for the first team
