Premier League manager mocks Harry Kane for his play acting against Everton

By Mehdi Gokal -

Everton manager Sean Dyche has expressed his displeasure with Harry Kane’s behavior during the incident involving Abdoulaye Doucoure in Monday’s 1-1 draw.

Speaking to the press (via The Guardian) Dyche stated that the Tottenham striker was being overly dramatic in his reaction to the slight contact to his face and was surprised to see the Spurs medical staff testing Kane for a possible concussion.

Dyche highlighted the inconsistency in football rules and how some injuries are treated differently from others.

He also criticised how “precious” football has become, with some fans and players being overly sensitive to any form of contact.

The Everton manager did acknowledge that the tackle from Lucas Moura on Michael Keane could have been dangerous, but he was also quick to point out that players are now more likely to go down at the slightest touch.

He joked that he was worried Kane might have “snapped his eyelash,” but he was relieved to see that the striker appeared to be responding well to treatment.

Despite playing with an extra man for most of the second half, Tottenham were unable to secure the win, and Everton managed to secure an important point in stoppage time through a stunning Michael Keane goal.

The draw means that Tottenham are now fifth in the table, with both Newcastle and Manchester United above them and having played two fewer games.

Next up for Stellini is a home game against Brighton which a must win game for Spurs if they want to keep the hopes of a top 4 finish alive.
