‘a serious source of danger for opponents’ Phil McNulty praises Spurs’ main threat

By Saikat -

Tottenham Hotspur earned a deserved 2-2 draw against Arsenal in the north London derby on Sunday.

Despite going down twice during the Derby game, Spurs managed to fight back and get back on level terms.

Summer signing James Maddison produced an outstanding performance for the visitors and he helped set up both goals for the away side.

Maddison has been an exceptional addition to the Tottenham midfield this summer and he has managed to hit the ground running. The 26-year-old has previously shown his quality in the Premier League with Leicester City and he was always expected to make an instant impact at Tottenham. The England international has not disappointed and he has established himself as one of Tottenham’s key players under Ange Postecoglou.

His ability to carve out chances for his teammates and get on the scoresheet himself makes him an asset for Tottenham and the fans will be delighted to see him performing at a high level right from the start. His performance in his first-ever north London derby shows that he is capable of handling pressure in crucial situations and in the biggest of games.

BBC journalist Phil McNulty has now heaped praise on the 26-year-old claiming that he is a serious danger for opposition teams now and the 26-year-old is one of Spurs’ main attacking threats.

He said: “In these days following the departure of record goalscorer and England captain Harry Kane, Spurs have been looking to compensate for his guarantee of goals by finding new threats and the link between Son and James Maddison confirmed its early promise here.

Maddison was the provider for both of Son’s goals. The link between the pair looks a natural fit and a serious source of danger for opponents.”

Maddison will be delighted with his start to life at Tottenham and he will look to build on it in the coming weeks.

The 26-year-old will look to help Tottenham get back into the Champions League and compete for trophies this season.
