A new interim Spurs gaffer option emerges, but will ENIC bite?

Tough times at Tottenham just got hotter, as Crystal Palace became the latest side to thump us last night, making the search for Premier League points far tougher and the chances of relegation all the more likely.

Igor Tudor was the man whom ENIC felt could offer us the best hope, but there has been no ‘new manager bounce’, in fact, things have got worse. It now emerges that Glenn Hoddle, 68-year-old former Spurs player and manager (2001–2003) has expressed his willingness to step in, amid the club’s struggles and pressure on interim boss Igor Tudor.

Enter the Hoddle?

Hoddle made these comments on the “Could It Be Magic” FA Cup podcast (sponsored by Carling), hosted by Joe Cole and Ashley Cole.

He stated he would be open to returning, particularly to Tottenham, as “that’s my club,” and that he’s supported them since age eight. He suggested he’d be interested in a supporting or co-manager role, potentially alongside another Spurs legend like Robbie Keane (whom he signed during his prior tenure).

His last full managerial role was with Wolverhampton Wanderers (2004–2006), and his most recent involvement was a brief assistant manager stint at Queens Park Rangers in 2014–2015. Since then, he’s worked primarily as a pundit, commentator (for ITV and TNT Sports), and occasional analyst, offering opinions on Tottenham’s issues like injuries, player quality, and form.

Tottenham are in a dire situation right now: they’ve been battling a severe relegation fight in the 2025–26 Premier League season. Thomas Frank was sacked in February 2026 after poor results (e.g., just a handful of wins in recent months, sitting precariously above the drop zone).

Igor Tudor was appointed as interim head coach until the end of the season, but early reports show losses in his initial games, intense pressure, and the team described as “too bad to stay up” with ongoing crises in organisation, intensity, and identity.

Our view

The lack of a new manager bounce is what has really killed the vibe at Tottenham, and the scenes last night of fans streaming out of the stadium were the last straw. Spurs are in no position to take any more gambles
