A Good Few Man United Fans Calling For Mauricio Pochettino Online Tonight

This evening Manchester United mounted a daring comeback against Premier League new boys Sheffield United, after initially trailing by 2 goals to nil.

The final score was 3-3.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s 2019/209 season to date has been on a par with Tottenham’s and it’s unsurprising some fans were lacking belief in their boss.

The once legendary winning machine Man United, currently occupy 9th spot in the Premier League and it is not unfair to say that their fans are unable to take anything for granted right now.

Goals from Williams, Greenwood and Rashford barely spared United’s blushes at Bramhall Lane tonight.

#OleOut has been trending on Twitter this evening, and the cries for former Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino were doing the rounds from comparatively early on in the game.

OPINION

Given Daniel Levy’s track record with previous senior staff, it would be quite a surprise if Poch was legally able to step into another club management role immediately – at all – let alone for another Premier League Tottenham rival.

Agree the churn is long overdue as our squad needs a minor overhaul – particularly the defense and creative midfield areas. Eriksen needs launching from a cannon aimed roughly at the continent.

As for Levy loosening his wad?
I gave up hope of that ever happening years ago. Jose’s intial ‘I’m happy to be inheriting such a great squad’ noises are just Levy blowing smoke up everyone’s arse.

I could swear the managerial in-door at Spurs is fitted with an ENIC indoctrination mind-wipe device of some sort.

To be fair, we won’t be moaning too many 1-0 wins. Now 1-0 defeats would be a different story. I’ll take a 1-0 win in the Champion’s League final any day!

I agree with you, but winning a league cup would have given the squad a taste of glory and silverware. That kind of thing can be addictively habit forming.

All won at the very top clubs in each respective leagues though.. Most managers at madrid manure chelsea win titles. Clubs with the most money this is expected. He had money to burn at each club…. Now with no money we will see how good a manager he really is.. The truth is after joses most recent failings at his clubs his stock has fallen. Hes not the powerhouse he once was

Failed to get into the Champions League with no home ground and a meagre wage bill and net spend?

What’s success under those circumstances for you DD, do you even know? Winning the League Cup or something would have been a greater achievement? What is it that he could have won under the circumstances that would have been more impressive than the league placing he secured?

Time and time again you predicted that we wouldn’t finish in the top 4, each time we did. Success is relative, if Maureen wins is the league with the same budget as Poch then i’ll be very happy….

We’ll see how good they actually are over time without Poch. Utd got ‘new manager bounce’ when Ole took over. After a few months it all reverted back to how it was before.

There’s a few players in our team that let Poch down in my opinion. The ex Ajax clique of Verts, Toby and Eriksen stopped trying about half way through last season. Not helped of course by Levy’s incompetent dealings with their contracts and transfer ins and outs. Dele lost his way as well.

Maureen is making the right noises but this is very much the ‘honeymoon period’…

– Mourinho came to Spain to destroy josep and nothing more. And he achieved this goal. Guardiola shamefully fled after the victory of Real Madrid in la liga.
– I enjoy every day without Pochettino in Tottenham. He was a club executioner, he tortured you for five and a half years. And you loved your tormentor. I would be ashamed to be in your place. The main thing is trophies, not the quality of the game. Pochettino failed to give either quality or great victories. Tottenham lost almost six years, others during this time in Europe made a big leap forward.Show me the trophies of Pochettino, if he won trophies, then I am ready to admit that I am wrong.

Jose looks and sounds like a man who’s taken a long hard look in the mirror since Manure, and likely seen a good therapist.

He’s pragmatic and tactically astute when it comes to changing games – things Poch wasn’t.

I also think he’s smart enough to know that youth development was/is an essential part of what Poch built at Spurs under our financial constraints. That he can’t just dismiss it with a cheque book here.

Many on here know that I am not a fan of Jose – but personally I want to give him a little time. I think long term you will be proved right, and its a shame about LoCelso, but the first half against West Ham was the best half we have had in almost 12months. we were fluid and playing for each other, we had a little bite that was all focused in the right way, and the diving was cut out. We looked a lot better. That was helped by West Ham being so poor, but still.

Yep your right it was going down hill and he did get found out but there is so much going on at the club that we don’t know about. He will learn and get better from it,Maureen has experience and all the agents on speed dial that is a very big bonus. I’m hoping he picks well and levy gives in from his tight wad nature. Everyone keeps on saying our squad is amazing ,haven’t we all been ripping them apart for the last 8 months? Keeper and all defence needs rebooting ,half a midfield and only one injury prone striker.

No, just see Jose as ‘risk averse’ and younger players are a risk to him. At Utd he called some of the younger players out for not playing well rather than build their confidence.

They guy never had a playing career so he doesn’t understand the mindset of a developing younger player. His methods work with seasoned pros because you call them out and they react, younger players need to be shown faith.

Jose is just a stop gap and doesn’t fit well long term, he could be gone as early as next season…

I agree, but you can’t ignore his methods are not focused on developing younger players. Levy clearly panicked in fear of missing out on top 4. Had he backed Poch properly there probably wouldn’t have been the staleness that Levy is desperately trying to find a quick fix for.

Typical Levy, everyone else gets the blame for his shoddy efforts on transfers and contracts. I want Maureen to win us something, I support the club. However the whole situation is of Levy’s making and nobody else…

As said rhe difference I saw against West Ham was greater hunger and desire, better agility alround plus an animated Jose who rest assured wont leave it to the 80th min (as Poch oddly did in in our defeat at Anfield) to make subs.
