‘a good captain ” – Bissouma names the Spurs player he thinks will be the future captain

By Mehdi Gokal -

Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma has named the teammate who he thinks will be the future captain of the club.

The Mali international had a difficult first season at Spurs under Antonio Conte but has looked like a completely different player under Ange Postecoglou.

He has been one of the best players for Tottenham and one of the best midfielders in the league as well.

It’s just not him who has been a key player to Tottenham’s terrific start to the season.

James Maddison, who signed from Leicester in the summer for £40m is another one. He has proven to be the best summer signing so far across the league, having scored 3 and assisted 5 in 10 games so far.

It’s just not his performances on the pitch, it is also his leadership skills both on and off the pitch as well as the friendly personality which has helped create an extremely positive atmosphere at the club.

And Bissouma was full of praise for the 26-year-old. He claimed that the 26-year-old has all the qualities to become the next Tottenham captain.

Speaking to Kick Game, he said:

“He’s a good guy, he’s really good. [He’s always] trying to know what’s happening and trying to check on everyone. I think he can be a good captain in the future as well, but as a player I love him.”

There is a reason why Ange named him the vice captain. His leadership skills are visible week in week out and there is no doubt that he will be a Spurs captain one day.
