Next season, Tottenham Hotspur is heading to the UEFA Champions League following their top-four finish. The next step will be building a squad that can win trophies and has the depth to compete in several competitions.

The Athletic reports that the north London club will inform manager Antonio Conte that Spurs are keen to make half a dozen signings this summer to ensure they can be competitive in the Champions League next season.

Conte hasn’t been shy with his remarks regarding the need for investing to compete with the likes of Liverpool and Manchester City, who they hope to usurp next season.

If the Italian tactician can add six players, it will be interesting to see which positions he outs of high importance to strengthen and how he plans to divide the transfer budget.

Spurs could be on the verge of a special project under Conte if they do indeed back up their words with finances; since he has shown the heights he can take the club with a limited squad, now imagine what the 52-year-old can do with a team that he gets to mold into his vision.

I know just playing Levy’s advocate. I expect 6 new signings from Series A and B and Google.

What I forgot to say below was Reguilon – on the way out? Gold saying we havent actually paid for him yet or it is due this year.

Now then at large if there is a bigger hater of Enic and his happy clappers then point me in their direction but he is the underling in this relationship and he will serve up what Conte needs for him not to walk (as everyone knows he will do if he is not satisfied).
So 5 outfield (new) signings plus a GK along with the payments for Romero and Kuluwhatsit.

Conte apparently wants ‘two new wing-backs, a left-sided centre-back, a (creative?) midfielder and a forward who can also play out wide’.

I’m with you, I feel maybe up to three signings will be made for nominal or low fees. Players out of contract or nearly out of contract etc

It’ll be 6 new, but one is a new backup keeper. So five more…but we’ll be shifting even more players

Jesus at only 25 years old with 150 appearances? Would be a solid signing with no time needed to adapt to the PL or CL

I would rather we take quality over quantity all day long.

Yes the devil is in the detail. That would suit the PR department and Levy to a tee.Hopefully Conte is wise to this move and forces their hand.A big summer window coming up.

I’m hopeful. A free transfer or two from Eriksen, Perisic, Jonhstone/Forster. A loan with obligation either Mckennie or Carrasco. Sarr coming in… that’s 3 position lwb, midfield and goal done.
A left side cb is a must, i’m hoping for Bastoni, a beast. If bergwin leaves jesus will be an upgrade… plays the lone forward position too. Winks, Reggie can be sold if there’s a demand for them.
It’s very doable IMO.

Levy style. Six players: Romero, Bent, Kulu, FFSFF, and 2 other players we already have signing new contacts. Didn’t say new signings, just signings.

Yes,but does the 6 players include the 3 we haven’t bought yet Romero, Kuluchevski and Bentacour, or 6 in addition? Otherwise it’s just 3 and 1 of those is a goalkeeper.which leaves just 2 new faces, which replace Lo Celo and Ndombele. I’m very suspicious,
