Alasdair Gold of Football London has spoken about the recent drama regarding Fabio Paratici’s presence on the Tottenham bench at the start of this season.
Paratici joined Spurs as Managing Director of Football this summer, but it’s a bit unusual to see someone in that kind of role sitting alongside the manager and coaches on the side-lines during matches.
A recent report from the Sun suggested some Spurs players were unsettled by Paratici being involved in this way, though Gold has spoken on his podcast about the situation in an attempt to clear things up.
Gold insists, however, that this is mostly due to Covid-19 regulations, with Paratici not able to mix with the players and then go and mix with board members and other club figures in the stands.
Interestingly, however, Gold also hints that there may be something more to this, with Paratici another figure on the touch line to put pressure on the referee and also show a general togetherness in the squad.
They are not managers and Nuno is and he needs to accentuate the point.

There might be some discontented players etc but I just can’t see how Partici and the (other) bald bloke have caused it mainly by getting a bit excited during matches. Doesn’t really add up for me.
These players are multi millionaires with families to go home to (most of them), are they really going to get worked up about a couple of suits jumping up and down on match day? Besides we’ve won every game so far, so it’s hardly been that disruptive has it. If anyone rubs people up the wrong way it’s Daniel…
