Tottenham urged to offload star man before he disrupts the dressing room

Tottenham has been told to get rid of Tanguy Ndombele now and replace him with a player that is a better fit for their dressing room.

Although the Frenchman has four more seasons left on his current deal at the club, he might not be in the plans of Nuno Espirito Santo.

He was left out of the team for their high-profile friendly against Arsenal recently in a move that seems to show that he hasn’t done well enough to impress Nuno Santo.

He had struggled to get in the good books of Jose Mourinho in the last campaign, but he eventually started making good progress in that regard.

The midfielder seems to have regressed in his progress and former Leeds United striker, Noel Whelan, believes this is the best time for them to sell him and bring a better player in.

He warns that the Frenchman’s poor attitude could rub off on others if they don’t get rid of him now.

Whelan told Football Insider: “They’ve had problems with Ndombele before.

“He has not been an easy player to deal with since he came into the club. Jose Mourinho found that out.

“I think Hojbjerg is a similar kind of player to Ndombele. Do you need both of them? Probably not. There is enough midfield players at Spurs.

“Ndombele has got better and better but I do not think he is indispensable.

“When players are not happy and do not fit into a culture or dressing room of players, the best thing to do is get them out and get as much money as possible for them.

“Get him out and bring in someone else swiftly, a player who is a better fit for the changing room. You cannot have disgruntled players because it will spread.”

Great player to have at your disposal. This gonna be his season. I love the way he puts the football under heavy heavy manners. Total control of it at all times. Buys fouls in dangerous areas too

Ndom has been poor.. So he won’t be going for 54 million and his next contract at his next club won’t be 200k or more….40 maybe? Still dear for a benchwarmer.

Most prices have dropped because of Covid.. Coutinho 140 million before it, Grealish was only 100… It was a common perception on here and from the likes of Gold and journos close to the club that Ndom was 100 percent a Botch signing… Whether it was Hitchen (who specialises in french league) or Botchy I don’t know….Levy doesn’t scout players nor picks the team 👍

Aye time for the lad to move on..I was right about him from the start, really frustrating seeing the flashes of brilliance few and far between. I’m so happy Bales gone, Tanguy isn’t worth those wages either, let Paratici spend that on someone else.

He doesn’t look interested. His body language suggest he’s lazy with a poor attitude.

Agreed. Get rid of him and Sissoko.

Exactly. How is Steve Hitchin still in a job? Contrast our transfer dealings with Leicester. Kante, Drinkwater, Mcguire, Chilwell, Mahrez have all been sold for massive profit. Tielmans, Maddison, Iheanacho, Castagne, Evans, Fofana etc have been brought in at prices that we can afford to be paying. Why were we not in for these players? Hopefully the Paratici appointment changes this.

Thought NBelly was young and would have great sell-on value. Levy appears to have ballsed up again. When will he learn to leave the football side to folks who are competent?

Definitely one of Levy’s brain farts like Sissoko. I don’t know, he pulls out of really good signings for established players over just a few mill more and then goes bonkers on punts like these despite plenty of evidence to avoid at all costs. The little bald clown is more erratic than an acrobat on speed.

This guy has always had issues yet Levy goes out and pays a fortune for him, the odd flash of talent has never been enough to prove anything, time to move him on even if it means at a loss, get him out.

Damn, if you’re that unlucky, shouldn’t you have exclusively picked players from our rivals? You could be our ace in the sleeve 🙂

Given we are rebuilding this summer, I reckon any ‘doubtfuls’ should go too. Let’s not pussy foot around, let’s do a full-on rebuild of anyone that is not at least a good squad player (and paid squad player’s wages too). Heavily waged theoretical ‘first teamers’ who ‘might just perform with Nuno’ when they haven’t really been performing as first teamers should be ditched. That covers quite a lot of players. We’d just be keeping a spine of a team to keep continuity.

We get a LOT of bad luck with the players and Lamela and Soldado are perfect examples as you say, is it all luck though? Seems to be our MO, take a few pricey punts and hope for the best.

I hope so because he’s got all the potential and no end product so far, he’s in my FF team so will likely have a nightmare first few games and then be out injured for the rest of the season(!)

Yep, poor scouting, picking square pegs for round holes (Soldado) and wrong players for the manager at that time (Bergwijn) has cost us time and time again in recent windows. Oh that and not signing anyone for a few consecutive windows didn’t help either.

Soldado failed due to the system he was playing in. He wasn’t a player to play as a lone striker. He was a poacher in and around the six yard box, picking up rebounds and getting on the end of crosses.

If I remember right he scored 47 goals for valencia in his last 2 seasons and 45 of them came between the goal line and the penalty spot area.

Bergwijn just doesn’t seem to get a run of games for some reason, I think he might get more of a run out if nuno plays with a two up which he does sometimes.

The problem is he is not fit enough.. just like lukaku.. he was unfit at Man utd n when he arrives at Inter the first thing that conte did was put him into dietbn work on his fitness.. now he is worth nearly 100m..

Lo Celso had a very good Copa América. Hopefully he can carry that into the season…

The entire scouting department should be held accountable. It’s not like the player hadn’t displayed the very same issues in his former club. We can’t afford £50m blunders.

2nd or 3rd choice players but still pay big money is the problem….I would take Lamela and Soldado out that list as just being unlucky and/or it just didn’t work out….Reg is good but he seems to lose composure too easy but hopefully he will grow…on the fence with Le Celso but Bruno was our first choice and look how good (our first choice) is….

The problem with Tanguy are his wages… 200k/week for someone who cant play 90 minutes in a week is a poor return

Very different & crucially theres a lot more to PEH game than a defensive screen..no reason these two cant play together, problem is Tanguy doesnt have more than 60 minutes in his legs…suspect thats the reason hes not starting. When Tanguy & Lo Celso started for Spurs you just knew both would be off way before 90 mins was up…

They both play for Spurs, that’s where the similarities end.

What is this shirker’s problem? Paid a king’s ransom each week to play football (if that’s what he calls it) and still not happy. If it’s lack of Champions League football that’s the issue I’d direct his attention to the majority of his performances last season or lack thereof and suggest he is one of the main reasons we didn’t succeed in qualifying for that competition.

Another classic Spurs top transfer, what a load of rubbish our decision makers must be to continuously get it so wrong – Lamela, Sanchez, Soldado, N’domblele, Sissoko, Bergwijn. Even Lo Celso and Reguilon haven’t lived up to their billing yet, if they ever do. None of those players would have been good enough for Chelski, City, Man Utd, Liverpool etc.

Levy will want to recoup the money if we did offload, two years on and a few flashes of what he can do, this year was his year to shine. Depends on who will want him Spanish / Italians big boys are struggling with funds so may be a swap ?
