Tottenham have reached a deal with Turkish club for youth academy graduate

Tottenham Hotspur could be on the verge of offloading another defender this summer as Japhet Tanganga is the next name that could depart the London-based club.

According to The Athletic’s transfer tracker, Tottenham has accepted a season-long loan offer from Turkish giant Galatasaray SK. However, there’s a hurdle when it comes to completing this deal for the 22-year-old.

When it comes to the finances of the loan, the English media outlet doesn’t offer much detail on that end. Nonetheless, the report details that Tanganga isn’t in any rush to decide and head to Turkey. The Tottenham youth product wants to see if he’ll be a part of Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans for this season.

Tanganga would like to remain with the club, prove himself to Santos, and show he’s a player the Portuguese tactician can trust. Should the new Tottenham not include the young defender in his plans this season, the alternative will be to remain in the Premier League rather than heading to Galatasaray.

Replacement cost and little resale value.

This just shows you should never get your hopes up about young players. There was a time under Mourinho when it looked like we had discovered a diamond, someone who could actually defend.

With injuries and lack of game time and the need to be able to do a first team job now it’s not looking great for Japhet

I’m keeping my hopes in check in regard to Skipp, Scarlett Devine et al. It just shows how hard it is to make it it at this level.

He must morph into a competent CB in training because he certainly isn’t one on matchday.

There’s several players I’d like to see gone before this one tbh.

Watching the friendly last night and at half time they said it looks like Dier would be first choice centre back again..my heart sank.

Doesn’t make sense rather him than Dire or Sanchez any day.

Agreed. Can’t see how a loan in Turkey would be of any benefit.

Right now Tanganga is part of Nuno’s first choice pre-season defence. It is utterly implausible therefore that we have accepted a loan deal for the boy to go to Turkey. If we were going to loan him out (yet to be determined) there would undoubtedly be a number of willing suitors, in both the lower reaches of the EPL and the Championship, who would offer a much better apprenticeship opportunity than the Turkish League. This whole story (which originated in Turkey) has fake news written all over it.
