Tottenham faces competition for their latest managerial target

Nuno Espirito Santo has emerged as the frontrunner to become the next Tottenham but they could miss out on appointing him as well.

The Lilywhites have missed out on hiring the likes of Antonio Conte and Paulo Fonseca recently and Radyo Gol in Turkey via Sun Sports says Fenerbahce has Nuno on their list of managerial targets.

The Turkish giants struggled and finished third in their domestic league last season.

They are now in search of a new manager and they believe that the former Wolves boss should lead them next.

The same report reckons that Tottenham have seen approaches for at least eight managers fail to yield results and Santo seemed to be the one that they would enventually appoint.

The Portuguese did well at Wolves and remains highly rated. However, he isn’t a manager that can be trusted to win trophies in England.

Because he is a free agent, he is an attractive option for Tottenham, but the Lilywhites might be forced into appointing another manager who is employed at the moment if they keep meeting dead ends on the free agency market.

Spurs have been linked with a move for several players and it remains unclear if they will want to appoint their next manager before they get busy with transfers.

Levy completely showed his hand with his end of season statement and the type of manager he was targeting. This showed to me we have a chairman who is trying to please the fans due to his failures and it has effected the whole process, when this happens you know you have a leader who has lost the plot and focus of what is happening on the pitch. Worrying, as Levy is here for the long haul.

Why does this remind me of picking your football sides at school and no one wanting the last player left standing!!
