Spain FAVOURITES to win Euro 2020; England 4/1

By The Boy -

SPAIN ARE NOW FAVOURITES with Ladbrokes to win Euro 2020.
Following France’s shock exit on Monday night, the bookies have slashed odds to just 3/1 on Spain going all the way, while Gareth Southgate’s England are 4/1 as things stand.

Elsewhere, Italy (9/2) and Germany (11/2) are just behind in the betting, with Belgium currently being 6/1 shots.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes told The Boy: “The big guns are dropping like flies, and it’s great news for patriotic punters, with England looking shorter and shorter with every passing day.”

Yes. Optimum conditions for England. The whole worlds a stage. Kane should appear tonight. It’s all set up for England.

I think it will be Italy. Which is good news for England.

Yes, quite possibly …..and the tournament? The final seems extraordinarily attainable for us, especially if we get through today against a very suspect German defence.

No, I had a feeling the Swiss might pull off a shock; I also had a fiver on Hungary to beat Germany and only just came up short. Switzerland can get past France but they couldn’t beat Wales who were thrashed by Denmark who lost to Finland. Strange things are happening. Are the players worn out from too much football and all these further hours of travel? Looking like England might win this jamboree.

Playing all but one of our games at home but without the attendant pressure of being the host nation because others are playing at home, too. Another big advantage for us is the little travelling we are doing compared to some others others.

Quite likely after tonight that every team from the group of death will have packed their bags and gone home. I think these groups of death are so for more reasons than their immediate results in the group; I can remember the Dutch having some terrible draws and on at least one occasion playing brilliantly to get out of their group and yet, pretty soon afterwards getting knocked out. A kind group draw is a big asset, I think; it allows you to start quite slowly and come to the boil at just the right time.

No much of a shock. Backed the Swiss. The french were always going out yesterday. Clear the path for Southgate and his sideways/backwards brigade.
