Spurs Make Statement On Harry Kane Transfer News

The fact that Spurs have even risen to this tale tells us just what levels of crisis the club is experiencing internally. What we are watching here is a footballing version of In The Thick Of It, with Daniel Levy being pursued down the High Road by a man in a big foam pork chop suit, whilst being shouted at, ‘are you for the chop, Mr. Chairman?!’

It was Sky Sports who decided to hit publish on what must be the most predictable transfer of the summer. No sourness from me, but this tale will effectively be the Gareth Bale to Real Madrid of the next few months, and we are in for an endless cycle of spins on essentially the same tale, again and again, and again.

What is laughable is that the full quote was now just published by PA Sport’s Jonathan Veal, and the Simon Stone had trimmed of the ‘we won’t be commenting’ line from the front of what the press officer has put out.

The first rule of Not Commenting Club is? Anyone from the audience? Yes, you madam, behind the man who has fallen asleep…

and if he goes there I wish him well. Maybe Sonny will go there are as well. They only have to look at what Bonzo has won since leaving the clutches of Levy and ENIC to see it makes perfect sense for them.

If Kane stays we still need to rebuild and ENIC will not be stumping up the money for that. It is the Bale scenario once again. Sell your best players who don’t want to stay as they never win anything here and use player sales income to purchase replacements, The problem again with that situation is that we sell world-class players and Levy looks to buy “potential” young players that he hopes will increase in value so he can sell them again in the future. As a result the team never progress’s to success but either goes backwards or treads water. 20 years of this manipulation of the assets of THFC for the personal gain of the owners. Levy and ENIC have managed to tarnish and erode the brand legacy of the club to the extent now that even generational fans are beginning to dislike being supporters. That is some achievement to put in the trophy cabinet!

I don’t care where he goes. He has been absolutely world class and a complete professional for Spurs. He deserves nothing but respect and I wish him all the best.

You could say the same about Bale, first time round. He had once in a generation players twice

What he means is 20 years from now who cares who “challenged” , 2nd place stats are worthless. Harry, Poch and the rest would have been legends only if those 2 runners up medals were winners ones.

Harry Kane, a player as good comes along once in a generation, you build a great side around him. This will be held against Levy until the day he leaves.

I laugh every time I hear this stuff about City not needing a centre forward, all this false number nine stuff.

Sad but he deserves a decent shot at winning something meaningful for the effort he has put in. Truly world class in every aspect on and off the pitch.

No idea what that means. I’m just pointing out that Kane hasn’t wasted the peak years of his career as these are yet to come and he has challenged for the league and CL. What do you mean about graphs?

Had a friend laugh at my criticism of Levy “yeah, he delivered us the best stadium in the world, what a bast–d”. Some people will still think ENIC are a force for good.

I worry for Spurs. I really do.

Now would be a good time to do a Leeds!

Exactly. I fell in love with Spurs during Redknapp’s time. Were those players vastly superior footballers to what we have currently? I don’t think so – we had some awful players, but they tried their best, which is more than what I can say for this lot.

I love PEH and I’m fond of Reguilon. But I can’t imagine that these feelings will overcome the utter heartbreak of Kane and Son leaving without picking up even a damn Carabao Cup.

Only Kane, Son and Lloris are good enough to play for teams who challenge for trophies. Every single top player from a club goes to a bigger and better club eventually. The only way to stop it happening is to be owned by an oligarch or country. There is no other way unless you can bring in enormous amounts of money from another source. Enjoy Man City winning the PL every year and pray that there is a multi multi billionaire out there who wants to buy Tottenham. Or we join a European Super League that produces so much money for everyone in it that it creates a level playing field and brings back some kind of competition to national leagues

Takes very little for a team to win the hearts of fans just give your best every game. This lot apart from Harry, Sonny, Hugo and a few others have no love for the club, just the clubs money.

This is just the start. When you see what happened to Vicenza after ENIC asset stripped them you can see what’s possible. This could go really badly south quick….

Kane is gone, and that is becoming clearer by the day, with Mourinho’s sacking apparently the last straw. Can’t blame him. He said he would stay as long as we matched his ambition and he stayed probably about three years longer than that.

What I worry about is this: when Kane and Son leave, how and when will a large portion of the fanbase rediscover their feeling of connection with the squad? Or is it just me who currently likes approximately five players on our books, and feels largely nothing (or just nothing positive) in relation to the others?

He’s wasted his peak years on Daniel Levys property and “regeneration” game.

Never let it be forgotten that the teams linked with Kane were all behind us about 4 years ago when Poch brought us to the brink…..

And Levy ignored it all and focused on menu design’s.

Well done ENIC you’ve got what you came for….but we don’t have our football club anymore. Thanks for that.

It’s a huge vote of no confidence in the Levy project if true.

Won’t be long before Son says the same. In fact, any Spurs player with a desire to win stuff before he retires will be looking for the exit door.

What Gauls me is that Levy nd Co still don’t see themselves as the problem. Despite the fact every single one of our best players during their tenure has left the club.

ENIC OUT !

Usual form would be, Harry Kane has not asked for a transfer from Tottenham Hotspur and there have been no enquiries from any other clubs.

End of story.
