For those of you joining us late, Tottenham have officially been branded as interlopers by one of the country’s biggest football broadcasters, Sky. Last week we had a live moratorium hosted by Jamie Redknapp and Graeme Souness, who nit-picked their way through Spurs having won the North London Derby 2-0. This week, we have the dynamic due that is Paul Merson and Timothy Sherwood.
Perhaps these analytical giants are correct, and Spurs fans will be throwing their season tickets (in a socially distanced manner) at Mourinho’s dug-out when they eventually return to the game in larger numbers.
Personally, I feel the suggestion is yet another attempt to undermine a successful side with an agenda that is ill conceived. Merson in particular, used to play for a side that served up some of the dullest football witnessed on planet earth, whilst their fans proudly sang ‘One nil to the Arsenal’ which reflected the football that won them so much silverware over the years. As for Sherwood’s value as a pundit, it’s really difficult to be unkind to a man with such an impoverished CV.

Lots of people listen to people they don’t like,… it’s a bit like picking a scab. You know you shouldn’t do it but it’s a kind of low level self-harm experience for some people! 😂
Where Soccer Saturday used to be the home of gentle, faintly bloke bonhomie it’s now a sad and tired cliche of itself. How an incompetent clown like Merson gets a job as ‘pundit’ never ceases to amaze me. Must have photos on someone somewhere. Same for Redknapp Jr. A man who captained us let me remind you. Truly I’m baffled at what insight he brings
