Tottenham’s Alfie Devine has been named as one of the best 20 young talents in the Premier League by The Guardian.
The 16-year-old was released by Liverpool when he was just 11. He played for them as a striker.
He restarted his footballing career as a midfielder and he is now one of the best box-to-box midfielders among his age group.
He was a player of Wigan just a few months ago after signing a long-term contract, however, the club went into administration and Tottenham pounced to sign him for just £300,000.
He has trained with the Wigan first team and played for their Under23’s despite being only 15.
He moved to Spurs this summer and was part of the club’s pre-season plans, having impressed the coaches.
He currently plays for Tottenham’s under18’s, but the report claims that he already looks too good for that side and might be knocking on the door of the first team soon.
This year’s list sees some of the top players in the country named as players to look out for.
Spurs have several top youngsters in their ranks at the moment.
Devine joins the likes of Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon among others that the club hope will become superstars in the future.

The Guardian did a list in 2014/2015 of each Premier League’s most promising player and out of the twenty only three are playing regular Premier League games, Marcus Rashford, Dominic Solanke, and Hamza Choudhury. That’s how difficult it is to make it even with the talent.
He should change back to being a striker, we’re always short of them and overstocked with midfielders.
Someone like Harry Kane is a great example to all these young lads trying to make it.
Our under 18s are doing really really well. Top of the league. The futures bright.
A long road to the top with many a turn on the way. I have learned not to get overexcited by youthful promise. Good luck to them all.
