We’ll never know who was in charge of transfers during Poch’s time but there were very few transfers in at all. Even if Poch did have a say, to get that four In wasn’t too shabby given the 17th highest net spend in the league.

He could go to the owners; “I want the best players in the world in each of these positions” and he’d get them 85% of the time.

Kane is a phenomenal CF, but if he is getting no service he fits the bill perfectly to play as a 10, as a plan B. He is quality. For this we need a second striker to go alongside Bale, Son and Kane. Unless the thinking is, Bale can play CF. Having another striker would give us great options and I am not having this ‘we can’t sign anyone good because of Kane’ nonsense. Liverpool have spent £45m on Jota to challenge Salah, Mane and Firminio.
