Tottenham’s transfer window looks like it will keep getting better as the Lilywhites close in on a Barcelona starlet.
Jose Mourinho’s side has already secured the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, Joe Hart and Matt Doherty.
The special one has been delighted by the club’s transfer business so far, but it seems that they are not done yet.
A report from AS via Sun Sports claims that Spurs has made a £2million offer to Barcelona for one of their youngsters.
The Lilywhites have been pursuing a deal for Barca’s Lucas de Vega after watching the young Brazilian for some time.
The report claims that he has a release clause of around £90million on his deal, but the Catalans will accept a far lesser amount because their priority at the moment is to get the future of Lionel Messi sorted.
20-year-old de Vega is yet to make a senior appearance for Barcelona, but he is highly-rated and he was a star on loan at Cartagena in the last campaign.
His fine form has attracted the attention of several other Spanish sides who believe that he can improve their team.
Spurs have made themselves masters of bargain deals and they want to push to sign him for far less than people might expect.

Who knows, it’s just this year’s punt. Last year it was Jack Clarke. I have no problem with signing this type of player for the future but I wouldn’t want to put too much stock in it. Could be a superstar like Dele mk 16/17 or could be average – like Dos Santos or one of the many others.
Any truth that they want 4 million euros up front and another 4 million in add on’s plus a buy back clause? If he was that good why would they sell him? Is he any better than Amos who we just sold,I would like to think at 20 he should be playing at a higher level than third tier.
💯
He’s one of the many promising youth players they have. He’s nowhere near their team. It’s funny that people think because he’s only cheap we should pay what Barca are asking. We should pay as little as we can to secure the deal.
The less we pay for a player that won’t touch our first team this season, the more we have to spend on improving our first team. Who knows, that £2m we saved could make the difference.
He is now 20 and only valued at £270,000 on Transfermarkt, and I know it doesn’t count. He played in the third tier of Spanish football last season and has said it would be a dream to sign for Spurs, how much are Barcelona asking for this academy player? Do all Barcelona players have a £90m release clause? Even the academy ones
I won’t be sending you to an auction with my money.
A typically insulting, lowball offer by Levy, which will undoubtedly be dismissed out of hand by Barcelona and evidently already has been. If the kid is a real talent and is already being offered at what is reportedly a knockdown price, then just stump up the money for him, keep Mourinho happy and strengthen the squad, rather than pissing off another club with a derisory token offer.
haha….release clause of 90m so we (apparently) offer 2m…..i’ve heard it all now…
Forgive me if I shelve my excitement for these prospects but this season is all about results. We need players with good experience that can come in and hit the ground running.
If we win a cup or two and make the CL then we are right back on track and there’s a good chance Kane will probably stay. This is what matters right now.
Next weak point to address is the second striker. Let’s get someone in soon.
