It seems Tottenham is refusing to let the bad financial realities due to the covid19 pandemic to affect them in this transfer window after their latest offer for a Roma star is revealed.
Jose Mourinho had hinted at the end of last season that the Lilywhites will sign players, but they will not splash the cash on any big stars.
They have since secured the signing of Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg from Southampton and Joe Hart on a free transfer.
They are not done yet and Corriere Dello Sport via Sport Witness is reporting that the Lilywhites just had a huge bid for one of Italy’s exciting young talents, Nicolo Zaniolo rejected by AS Roma.
Zaniolo has been a long-term target of Tottenham as Mauricio Pochettino also wanted to sign him for the Lilywhites.
The Argentinean is no longer the club’s manager, but Jose Mourinho has maintained the club’s interest in the exciting player.
The report claims that Tottenham offered 50 million euros for his signature, but the offer was turned down immediately by the Italians.
Roma has just been taken over by new owners and they have taken Zaniolo off the market.
A higher amount might tempt them to sell, but Spurs can’t seem to have that much to spend in this transfer window.

….. Levy readying a bid for Messi tomorrow I bet. 😂
lol indeed, what a load of trash…
LOL
What a load of rubbish, every transfer window Spurs are linked to top stars at top prices but Levy knows he won’t get him, he’d never make the offer if he thought it would be accepted. Propaganda by Lewis, Levy and ENIC again. Get moving and get some quality in or sell to someone who has the team at heart.
Sound like one of those bids that Levy knew would be rejected, if it even happened
