At A Glance: Robin Quaison is a superior option to Callum Wilson [image]

There’s no doubt about it, either of these players could step into the role that Tottenham are currently trying to recruit for, and what it will come down to is the gut feeling of José Mourinho and his team.

Wages we know will be an issue with Callum, as he was apparently on £100,000 a week at the now relegated Bournemouth. On the plus side, Wilson would count towards Spurs’ home grown quota. Quaison would also arrive with the whole ‘not used to the Premier League‘ thing hanging over his head.

In all disciplines bar one, Quaison comes out on top, and according to Transfermarkt, he’s nearly half the fee. If I were Mourinho, when not playing Kane, I’d switch Sonny to the right and play Robin at ALMF.

It’s a funny old game! because in yesteryear we had a glut of strikers namely Robbie Keane, Defoe etc

IMO Callum Wilson is the best of the cheaper bunch!

Kevin Keegan – Scunthorpe to Liverpool
John Aldridge – Oxford to Liverpool
Ray Houghton – Oxford to Liverpool
Ian Rush – Chester to Liverpool

If we remain with this thinking of Kane plays every game, then we are doomed, that has to change .

Thought we always looked alright when Sonny plays through the middle, however Jose likes a lot of direct balls in and players attacking them so if Kane is out it messes up his long ball stuff…

Deeny would probably have to put up with the same amount of footy as Loriente did, i.e very little if Kane’s available. If he’d be happy with that role then why not? Could do worse, short term fix though.

I despair of all these non English links now.
We need to start raiding the lower leagues

We cant start another season with 1 striker….and I mean an out and out striker…Jose will want a big strong player to play instead of OR with Kane…its a must have..

I think we are taking a massive gamble on N’dombele coming good next season, compared to what we could still get for him now and reinvest in players that would push us on.We have to shift the deadwood but with little return to get the players needed, imo sell him now and not in 12 mts time.

His hold up play is brilliant and as good with his head as his feet the only game I was disappointed with him was unfortunately the play off final when all the Brentford team froze on the big occasion.

Probably not, he would have to be offered more starts than just 20mins here and there, but he’d be perfect for when you need a goal.

He’d be a great shout, but I also agree that he wouldn’t want to be in Kane’s shadow and he doesn’t deserve to be.

Anything around £20m would be a good price for such a homegrown player. He’s got a great engine, works his socks off, his link up play is superb and can score goals from anywhere.

They turned down. a bid of £30m in Jan but I heard that if they didn’t get promotion a clause of £18m might be enough.

£40m? But Southampton also demanded £35m for Hojbjerg and ended up with £15m plus ,so Levy might get him for £30m? Can’t see Ings wanting to sit on the bench

What would Danny Ings cost then?

Agree not to limit Bergwijn or Sess minutes. Just buy Deeney and use him as third choice behind Kane and Son

That would score more goals than either of these 2. I’ve seen enough of Ollie Watkins at Brentford to think he would be a great understudy to Kane and would naturally develop into his replacement. It’s just my opinion, but I think he’s got what it takes.

The third option was one of those weatherproof fan cut-outs, on a pulley system.

This might make sense, but Levy’s already done the budget for him on Van Bergwijn, who plays pretty much the same role.
