Sources: Nothing In Winks To Man City Tale

Yesterday we brought you our thoughts on the Harry Winks to Manchester City, which in a nutshell consisted of two thoughts, ‘yes’ and ‘please’. Harry Winks hasn’t done much wrong in his 7 seven seasons at Spurs, equally he’s achieved little of note.

The Manchester Evening News has good local contacts and the quotes aren’t vaguely ambiguous, in fact it sounds like a comprehensive ‘no, thanks’. Which is hardly a shock when looks at the depth of Pep Guardiola’s squad.

As per a recent comment from me, it is evident that since Mourinho’s team were installed, information has been more free flowing than it had been under the somewhat disillusioned mood at Hotspur Way during Poch’s end of days. So could it be that Mourinho wants Winksy gone?

It’s not improbable, however, until the situation with Tanguy Ndombele comes to a head, we have to look at the Spurs midfield without the Frenchman. Also Spurs have a hell of a lot of games next season.

He has only failed to impress at Barca because they were playing him out of position on the left wing. He is a central attacking midfielder all day. Thats where he was so good for the scouse.

Arguably grass not always greener, Coutininho’s form slumped post Liverpool!

Always a tad vulnerable defensively when during their dominant era winning league titles, domestic trophies and CL trophies under Guardiola they were invincible. Having since lost the plot, heavily reliant on Messi Bayern simply ripped them apart.

I remember it well deal struck between AS and JK shaking hands on his boat in Monaco!.
Also aren’t we indebted to Lord Sugar for saving Spurs from Bankruptcy??

Oh the ignomy of their own player coming on to put the final nail in their coffin. How did they allow that to happen? Can’t for the life of me understand how Barca cannot find room for Coutinho in their squad

But playing a high line is risky which I suppose is irrelevant when blitzing goals!

When son put us one up I’ll never forget the weight of noise in the south stand. HEEAAVVY. Then seeing families crying at the end.

Aided by 2 overlapping full backs delivering quality crosses nothing pedestrian about the fluidity of Bayerns play, just sayin!

Indeed but the scoreline was hardly flattering as we conceded what was it 3 or 4 in the last 10 mins?

When he first burst onto the scene after his debut goal against West Ham I had high hopes for the lad predicting he would be a future Spurs and England captain!!. Wrong on both counts!

Fairly or unfairly what does neat and tidy Winks actually do.
a) He rarely imposes imposes himself on the midfield
b) He fails to make any defence splitting passes (correction ah one he did against the Foxes)
c) He fails to score goals, that when he does get into shooting range he shoots wide

I just want winks to improve. A lot. Had he not come through the ranks he’d be gone.
