“Not reached his potential yet” Struggling Star Gets A Nice Gee Up From Ex-Coach

Former MK Dons boss Karl Robinson has backed Dele Alli to come out a better player after his struggles on and off the pitch in recent times.

Alli, 23, has bagged nine goals and five assists in 35 appearances so far this season as he has struggled to hit top form on a consistent basis.

Further, he made the headlines for the wrong reasons last month after being charged by the FA over a social media post, and so it has been a difficult period in the England international’s career.

However, Robinson has looked at it from a positive perspective and believes that his former charge will learn from those experiences and be a better player because of it.

“He has not reached his potential yet. There is a lot more to come. His age tells you that and the experiences he has gone through over the last year will maybe make him a better player,” he told Sky Sports.

“In the short term it might be difficult, but when you know what type of character he is you know he will relish whatever is put in front of him.

“The older he gets and the higher up the football pyramid he goes, there’s a structure to the game he needs to fall into, that will allow his talent to get to the forefront.”

Alli evidently made a positive impression on Robinson during their time working together, and it certainly sounds as though he has every confidence in the midfielder’s ability to return to his best and improve further moving forward.

He’ll have to wait for some time to show it on the pitch though, following the announcement that the Premier League will be suspended until April 30 due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

I wish people would stop making excuses for this player. At 23 he is an adult, and when he starts acting like one they will then reflect in his performances. The trouble is that it seems everybody constantly using social media feels the need to act in childish, banal ways.Grow up.
