Tottenham are reportedly continuing to train this week with Jose Mourinho preparing his stars with the mindset that they will return to playing in early April.
The Premier League ground to a halt last week as the decision was made to suspend all fixtures due to the coronavirus pandemic.
It was announced that the intention would be to resume and reschedule fixtures from April 4 onwards, although it’s not yet certain given the ever-changing situation with the outbreak as to whether that will be possible.
According to the Evening Standard though, the Spurs squad is continuing to train at the club’s complex as normal this week, with no reported cases of coronavirus within the ranks.
However, while it’s added that the necessary precautions are being taken to avoid spreading anything, Mourinho is preparing his players with an early April return in mind, although much will depend on further government decisions in the coming days.
That would seem to be the most sensible plan amid the uncertainty, with the players prepared to play as and when they are given the green light to do so by the Premier League.
